What to Eat When Doing the hCG Diet December 22, 2015

So, you’ve finally made a decision that you’re really going to lose that darn weight. You wanted to try the hCG diet and you are quite sure of yourself that you can inject yourself with the hormone every single day for weeks on end. The only problem to you is the 500-calorie restricted diet per day.

Now, for people who do not want to do the math, 500-calories isn’t a lot, especially when you are accustomed to binge eating. This can be a problem for you since you were not really paying attention to the amount of calories you’re eating before you want to try the hCG diet.

But, do not fear! I am going to help you solve the problem. I am going to give you suggestions on what you should eat when you are under the hCG diet program. For the program to be successful, you only need to eat a total of 500 calories per day.

So, what are you allowed to eat? Well, I am going to strike at the core, and that is to eliminate any processed foods and desserts. Those are really big no-nos because the former has a lot of empty calories, while the latter has a lot of sugar, which has been proven to contribute to weight gain.

Now that is out of the way, let’s look at the major food groups: Protein, fruits and vegetables.

For the protein, all fats should be trimmed and the meats should not be on the bone. If you want to opt for meat, the best protein source would be Chicken (remove the skin). If you really want to have a lean protein, then eat White fish such as Cod.

If you want to eat beef, opt for the leanest cuts and of course, trim the fat. It is of paramount importance that you remove any fat as this can contribute to the amount of calories you eat.

Seafoods are also welcome. Other than fish, you can eat shrimps and lobster. Do not opt for crabs as they are of the fatter variant.

Now on to the vegetables. Basically, you can eat any green vegetable, provided that you eat in portions. Portion sizes can range from 2-4 ounces or 1 cup. For example, a 4-ounce portion of Asparagus is equivalent to 20 calories. 4 ounces of Broccoli is 30 ounces, while 1 cup of lettuce is only 15 calories.

You can be generous on the vegetables because they only contain a very few calories. The majority of the calorie count would be allotted for the protein.

Last but not the least, the fruits. Limit yourself to only consuming any of these: Apple, Grapefruit, Strawberries, Black Berries, Blue Berries, and Lemon. These are basically all the fruits that provide the best amount of nutrition per day.

So, some final points to consider here. Opt for one portion of protein per day, 3 portions of vegetable, and at least one portion of fruit. That is for every day you are on the hCG diet. After you have reached your desired weight, then you can gradually increase the calorie intake so that you can still maintain the fat-burning powers your body has.

Basically, that is all there is to it. I hope that this article has shed some light on what foods you can eat every day while you’re on the hCG diet. Now get out there and lose weight! Live healthy, live happy!
